Some religions believe in reincarnation in which your spirit goes from past lives to future lives. Each lifetime you will learn lessons and when you die the spirit leaves your body and you will be reincarnated into the next life.

In today’s world some people have a very specific purpose in life or they know why they are here. For some they are not sure what their life purpose is and some people feel that there is no purpose in life at all. Your purpose or mission in life depends on the level of consciousness you have and it also depends on how much you have grown into past lives. Every lifetime is a lesson towards self-realization or self-actualization or what the Buddhist call enlightenment. But unless you achieve the state of enlightenment according to the philosophy you will be reincarnated. However, the more lessons you learn in each lifetime, the more clearer your life purpose will become.

If you are at a stage in life where you lack purpose try to think about what gives you the most meaning and fulfillment in your life. What is your passion?

Mother Teresa’s life purpose or mission in life was very clear and specific, she founded the missionaries of charity in which she took care of the poor and people with HIV and helping other groups of people. The charity became a worldwide charity with 4500 people in over 100 countries and she was widely recognized for her purpose of helping others.

Finding your life purpose or having a mission in life is not something that has to be discovered quickly, it is a gradual process of revelation. Steve Jobs once used to say ‘’you cannot connect the dots looking forward, only looking backwards’’.

So if you are not clear if you have a purpose or mission in life is actually not that important. What is important is that you live each day to the fullest and go on that journey of self-realization, found out who you are. The more you will nurture your spirit and follow your heart, the more your life purpose or mission in life for being here will become more clear. No one will be able to tell you what your life purpose is, not your teachers, not your parents and not your friends. It’s a personal quest for self-discovery that you have to find. Follow your heart and the answers will be revealed to you.
